The Philippi Village project was initiated in 2021, where Advisory Board Member of WIT – SA Aluta Moshani – grew up in Gugulethu, a township in Cape Town. Aluta had so much passion for the community and wanted to give back, by helping the youth acquire digital skills and get access to technology.💡

Building the Centre also gives the youth access to programs facilitated by Women in Tech South-Africa which include Mentorship Programs, Digital Skills Training, Basic Coding Skills, in addition to programs, internet access, which allows time for homework, and other research needs. Generous contributions have been made by Sanlam and IOCO, donating Computer Devices, and Furniture, which has helped to make this project a success.💪

Women in Tech® is the engine for driving change in communities through technology and empowering more women and girls to embrace STEM, which continues to be our ultimate goal.🔥🔥
