The Women in Tech Global Summit 2025, held in Osaka from April 23-25, has emerged as a defining moment in the global push for gender equality in technology. What began as a three-day conference transformed into a catalyst for unprecedented international cooperation, culminating in the historic signing of the Osaka Protocol.

A Global Gathering of Unprecedented Scale

The summit brought together 420 participants from 60 countries across six continents, creating a truly diverse and representative gathering. With the Asia-Pacific region leading attendance at 32%, followed by strong representation from America (16%), Europe (14%), and Africa (14%), the event demonstrated the universal commitment to advancing women in STEM fields.
The impressive lineup of 80 distinguished speakers represented leading organizations worldwide, delivering keynote addresses, expert panels, and interactive workshops that addressed both current industry challenges and future innovations. The event’s exceptional quality was reflected in its outstanding 8.9 satisfaction rate, testament to the meaningful impact it had on attendees.

The Osaka Protocol: A Historic Achievement

The summit’s crowning achievement was the launch of the Osaka Protocol, an international convention that represents a quantum leap forward in promoting gender equality in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. First announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21, 2025, the protocol was officially signed and launched during the summit on April 24.

Extraordinary Media Reach and Global Recognition

The summit’s success extended far beyond the conference halls, generating 25 million in media coverage and reaching 5 million people through social media channels. This massive reach amplified the summit’s core message that “when women come together in tech, the impossible becomes inevitable.”
The event’s combination of high-level strategic discussions, practical workshops, networking opportunities, and cultural celebrations – including the opening expo visit, welcome cocktail, gala dinner with awards, and closing afterparty – created an environment where meaningful connections and lasting commitments could flourish.

A Foundation for Future Progress

The Women in Tech Global Summit 2025 has established itself as more than just a successful conference – it has become the launchpad for a global movement. The Osaka Protocol provides a concrete framework for action, while the relationships and commitments formed during the summit create the foundation for sustained progress toward gender equality in technology.
