Melissa Slaymaker has a real passion for technology, empowering women and for connecting people. Melissa is the Talent Hub Director for Women in Tech Global and volunteers for Women in Tech Global Movement, as the Regional Director for Africa. Women in Tech a registered Non-profit Company, on a mission to empower 5 million women and girls in STEAM by 2030. She has worked in technology from an Executive Search and Recruitment perspective for over 15 years across Europe and Africa connecting people to Technology and Leadership roles.
Melissa is a Speaker, Moderator and Advocate for Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. She helps to empower women by connecting them to opportunities such as better jobs, access to better education, mentorship programs and a network of support. She also co- designed the THIS IS ME program, which is a 4-months soft skills and job-readiness program currently being delivered to corporate companies in South Africa.
She has a BSc Degree in Psychology, Genetics and Physiology from the University of Stellenbosch, a postgrad MDP (Management Development Program) certificate from the University of Witwatersrand, a postgrad certificate in Business Management from the European Business University in Luxembourg – where she is also currently studying the Fundamentals of Blockchain and AI.
Melissa is also the Co-Founder for NFTy-art, a start-up that helps educate and demystify the world of Web3, the Metaverse and NFT’s, helping African Artist to create a passive income stream through their NFT’s (nfty-art.com).
